Addicts know that their night is hopeless, alcoholics do not hope that their night will have a dawn, the abandoned have no hope of being accepted again. The sick prisoner does not hope to see freedom. The addict to his crimes does not hope to be an honorable man again. The man weighed down by sin no longer sees hope. To all of them, the Mass wants to say that the dawn will surely come. Because the “Sun of Justice” comes in Jesus of Nazareth. Every Christmas renews that hope. The Church calls out to humanity to hope, the Church wants to uplift those with broken hearts, to revive them.
The dawn is already breaking, the day is coming, and the end of your suffering. Rise earlier today, sit on the edge of your bed, and cry out to God. Remember that He loves you, all the more because you are a sufferer. Remember that God is almighty, accept your sufferings and place them in His hands. You will experience how embracing suffering can liberate you from that suffering when you are with Jesus. Do not despair. The day is approaching.
